Manchester is trying so hard to be cosmopolitan and chic... I however don't buy it! The city offers nothing other than shopping, shopping, drinking, shopping, clubbing and a little bit more shopping. If you want anything else London is conveniently situated 2hr 15min south by train.

The Barbican Centre, London

This is by far one of my favourite inner-city estates in London. It does however have a slightly spooky appearance once the sun sets and the visitors have left. The architecture is stunning and the planning that went into this development is second to none.
